Designed for children under 5 and their parents and carers, Monski Mouse’s Baby Disco Dance Hall mixes quirky retro-vintage dance tracks with ”funky” nursery rhymes in a disco-dance event designed for the enjoyment of both parent and child.

The Baby Disco Dance Hall features Monski Mouse at the decks, a small team of ‘Monski’s Special Helpers’ (dance facilitators) and a soft furnishing ‘baby area’ where the non-walkers in the crowd can roll around to the music. Participants at the Baby Disco Dance Hall are encouraged to dress up with their very best dancing shoes, and glitter lame jumpsuits are welcome!

DJ Monski Mouse has been spinning classic vinyl tracks for the last nine years at clubs and festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Since becoming a mum in early 2010 Monski has changed her focus from late nights to mornings.

“I have always had a really playful, eclectic style to my DJ mixing, which has transferred really naturally to the Baby Disco Dance Hall format.” says Monski Mouse. “Becoming a Mum to my beautiful dancing daughter gave me the confidence to create my version of the kiddie disco.”

Developed with the help of experienced children’s theatre and dance practitioner, Ninian Donald and early childhood education specialist Emma Anderson, Monski Mouse’s Baby Disco Dance Hall encourages parents and children to interact through the joy of music and dance.

“As parents, we don’t always have a safe place to act silly with our kids when we are in public, Edinburgh Fringe parents this is your chance!”, says Monski Mouse.

We all had a great dance – which is quite unexpected at 11am with no booze. Terrific.Christie Anthoney, Creative Director AC Arts
